Prayers & Prayer Services

Through prayer, we find meaning, strength and direction for our lives. We become more and more the kind of person we really want to be - a person of love, integrity, compassion, forgiveness and joy. Prayer is first of all listening to God . It is openness to him. God is always speaking, he is always doing something. Prayer is to enter into that activity and convert our thoughts into prayer. As we are involved in unceasing thinking, we are called to unceasing prayer. The difference is not that prayer is thinking about other things, but that prayer is thinking in dialogue  - a conversation with God.

At the Mass we really become present to the Mystery we are celebrating. When we remember the sacrifice of Jesus at the Eucharist, we are not simply recalling a past event; we become present to the mystery   ... read more about the parts of the MassThe Our Father,   quotes on the Mass,

Examen of Consciousness

The Examen is not the same as an'examination of conscience' such as we engage in before meeting jesus in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. It is a prayer that helps us encounter Jesus in our daily life, as he encourages us to do God's will. It also helps us to grow in spiritual sensitivity, to recognise and receive God's care and assistance. The Examen is a simple prayer for for busy people who are continually seeking to do God's will  ...  read more
